  • Sexually Transmitted infections

Sexually Transmitted Infections are common in men and women. Gonorrhea and chlamydia are common for men were as HPV, genital herpes, and the Zika virus can be there in women.

STIs cause severe pelvic pain. Along with pelvic pain, discharge from the sexual organs, inflammation in the urethra, and painful urination are other symptoms.

  • Prostatitis

Prostatitis is a common cause of pelvic pain in men. It is a bacterial infection of the Prostatitis gland.

Pain in the pelvic region, groin, and lower back, painful urination, fever or chills, nausea and vomiting, urinary blockage, and painful ejaculation are the main symptoms.

Pelvic pain during or before the periods, Pain during and after sex, painful bowel movements, blood stains in stool, painful urination, lower back pain, infertility, and bloating are considered to be the symptoms. 

  • Interstitial Cystitis

Interstitial Cystitis is a type of inflammation of the balder. It is not caused by an infection. Interstitial Cystitis is common in women in their thirties and forties.

Frequent and urgent urination, discomfort when you urinate, pain during sex, and chronic pelvis pain are the common causes. 

  • Uterine Fibroids

Uterine Fibroids can also cause pelvic pain in women. Fibroids are small non-cancerous tumors that grow usually on the wall of the uterus.

Along with chronic pelvic pain which can be heavy periods, feeling full even when you are hungry, frequent urination, painful periods, and constipation can be there.

  • Psychological Causes

There is no wonder in saying that even psychological reasons can cause pelvic pain. Psychology-triggered pelvic pain is more common in women.

Along with pelvic pain, there can be depression and anxiety. It is common in women who had an abusive experience.
