The cake is a 2014 American drama film written by Patrick Tobin, directed by Daniel Barnz, and starring Jennifer Aniston, Adriana Barraza, Felicity Huffman, William H. Macy, Anna Kendrick, and Sam Worthington. It debuted in the Special Presentations section of the 2014 Toronto International Film Festival.
Aniston portrays a woman in chronic pain who grapples with many of her own complex problems.
Aniston’s performance has earned nominations for the Screen Actors Guild Award and Golden Globe Award.

“Cake”-Jan. 23rd is the release date in select theaters. Many many reviews are using the same terminology such as: anger, meds in Tijuana (that can’t be good) and lonely. The only time pain comes in is in the summary of “woman who lives in chronic pain”. As earlier stated, there are comments about comedy and under no circumstance are our lives funny.
I believe we need a strong voice, like PainPathways, to step in and see how far they can go to defend their clientele, as my NC voice will not make it to CA or NY. We can’t change the movie but we may be able to influence how it’s advertised. As this movie gets closer to opening day and the Actors continue their interviews with E! news, Ellen, Jimmy Fallon, etc., if these well known people get word about all the real people living in chronic pain, maybe they can spread the word that this is what the focus should be and we deserve the same light, attention, funding, and help as those with other chronic illnesses. Where is/was our ice bucket challenge?
